Today in the newsletter:

- A simple way to get media attention
- The best way to run board meetings
Here we go!
1. How to evaluate if your ads are working
Running ads, but unsure if they're paying off?
Here's what to consider, according to our e-comm wizard Markus:
- What's your cost per click? Track that. See which ad gives you the best price for someone clicking the site. Conversion should be your campaign objective, but it can take time. Clicks can help you to understand if this makes sense, so use it to qualify if an ad creative is a win or not.
β
- What's getting in the way of sales? If your ads aren't converting, are the ads definitely your problem? Or is your landing page not clear enough?
β
- How much time has passed? Metaβs attribution window is 7 days, so seeing some conversions can take time. Never decide anything based on the first 3 days of running an ad.
And remember, Meta alone is not a miracle maker. It takes hard work, especially if your landing page/product page is not dialed in properly.
2. A simple way to get media attention
Want press, but can't afford a publicist?
Just subscribe to these newsletters.
Reporters share their queries. You reply with answers. Sometimes they'll reach out for an interview!
Warning: Itβs a crapshoot, and the quality of media outlets and reporters who use it vary widely. But it's fast, easy, and there's no harm in subscribing and replying to relevant inquiries.
3. How to run a great board meeting
Have you built your board of directors?
Meetings can get long. Or become unfocused. So here's how to keep things sharp and productive, and the most valuable for everyone.
- No live presentations - everyoneβs expected to read ahead so the meeting is for discussion, not updates.
β
- Ask board members to submit questions or discussion points beforehand.
β
- Make sure those questions are addressed in the meeting (either live or in prep materials).
β
- Focus the session on where you actually want help - key challenges, strategic input, or decisions youβre facing.
β
- Knock out legal/financial formalities quickly and save the bulk of the time for working on the business
